Teeth Whitening

Professional whitening lifts the staining that builds up over years. Ask us what is realistic for your teeth before you spend money on it.

Teeth whitening

Professional whitening lifts staining that builds up from coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco. It works on natural tooth enamel, and how much change you see depends on what is causing the discoloration in the first place — some staining responds well and some does not respond at all. We will look at your teeth and tell you what to expect before starting.

What whitening does not change

Whitening does not change the color of crowns, bridges, fillings, or dentures, because those are made of materials that do not bleach. If you have existing dental work in a visible spot, that is worth planning around — sometimes the right order is to whiten first and match the new work to the result.

Common questions

How white will my teeth get?

That depends on what is staining them and on your natural enamel color, so we will not promise a shade before looking. Surface staining from food, drink, and tobacco generally responds best. Come in and we will give you a realistic answer.

Will whitening work on my crowns or fillings?

No. Whitening only affects natural tooth enamel. Crowns, bridges, fillings, and dentures stay the color they were made, which is worth accounting for if any of them are visible when you smile.

Is whitening bad for my teeth?

Temporary tooth sensitivity is the most common side effect and it usually settles after treatment. Having it done through a dental office means we check your teeth and gums first, which matters because whitening over untreated decay or gum disease is a bad idea.

What about cost?

Every mouth is different, so the honest answer is that we need to see yours before we can tell you what anything will cost. Call the office and we will talk it through — and consultations for dentures and implants are free.

We accept: cash, check, all major credit cards, and CareCredit.
